The HPC Advisory Council, a leading organization for high-performance computing research, outreach and education, announced that the HPC Advisory Council will host The Third Student RDMA Programming Competition. It is designed for undergraduate to study RMDA, and is also an excellent opportunity for RDMA programming expert to shining the talent. The competition was first held in 2013, attracted more than 20 colleges and universities from across the country to enroll. In the second competition held in 2014, attracted more than 30 colleges and universities to enroll and received wide attention from experts of international high performance computing, cloud computing and big data.
This competition starts today, and results will be announced at HPC Advisory Council China Workshop on November 5. The outstanding students may receive the invitation to enter American schools by the invite of professors and experts from leading universities of US. In last year competition, University of Science and Technology of China and Northwestern Polytechnical University won the first prize, contestants from the Huazhong University of Science and Technology and Xidian University won the second prize, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Nanjing University and National University of Defense Technology received a third-class Award.
The students and instructors from winning team will be interviewed by the media, and will have opportunities to be invited to participate in HPC Advisory Council held seminars in other countries to share the results. Advisors also have the opportunity to discover new research directions, strengthen international cooperation through the competition. We are looking forward many more colleges to participate and achieved good results this year.

The HPC Advisory Council is a large eco-system organizations which focuses on bridging the gap between high-performance computing use and its potential, bringing the beneficial capabilities of HPC to new users for better research, education, innovation and product manufacturing, and brings users the expertise needed to operate HPC systems, provide application designers with the tools needed to enable parallel computing, and to strengthen the qualification and integration of HPC system products. The council has many subgroups, including HPC|Cloud, HPC|Scale, HPC|GPU, HPC|Storage. HPC|Works and HPC|FSI. All the members can use the cluster for free.
The HPC Advisory Council held the first National Supercomputer Competition for University Students in 2012 and Asia Supercomputer Community in 2013 (ASC13), attracting high attention of more than 300 universities throughout the country and the Asia region. In the last two competitions, Tsinghua University won the championship in 2012 Supercomputer Competition, as well as National University of Defense Technology achieved the Highest Calculating Performance Award. In 2013’s RDMA competition, Huazhong University of Science and Technology and Northwestern Polytechnical University won the First Prize. And in 2014’s RDMA competition, University of Science and Technology of China and Northwestern Polytechnical University won the first prize.
