Announcing the 11 Student Teams
The ISC-HPCAC Student Cluster Competition (SCC) encourages international teams of university students to showcase their expertise in a friendly yet spirited competition that builds critical skills, professional relationships, competitive spirits and lifelong comraderies.
An integral part of ISC High Performance conference and exhibition, being held 18-22 June in Frankfurt Germany, the SCC’s ongoing success and growing recognition as the World Championship is the result of a collaborative partnership between the ISC Group and the HPC Advisory Council.
For the last six years, the joint collaboration has focused on introducing STEM students to the world of possibilities that is HPC – its leaders, opportunities and community and helping develop critical skills students will use long after they’ve completed their current studies. Each year up to twelve teams, comprised of six students and up to two advisors, compete in the ISC-HPCAC SCC and take part in the world’s oldest and Europe’s premier conference and networking event for the international HPC community.
Over three intense days, 19-21 June for the 2017 competition, teams are cheered on by more than 3,000 conference attendees as they demonstrate their own incredible capabilities from building a state of the art system of their own design to obtaining the greatest performance across a series of benchmarks and applications during the hands on live-learning competition. SCC teams also take part in the ISC High Performance conference sessions and are exposed to more than 160 exhibitors from around the globe.
Entering its 32nd year ISC High Performance is not just ‘The HPC Event’ it is ‘The Destination’ where students also have a unique opportunity to teach us how HPC influences our world and day-to-day learning.
